How many times have you asked students to write up a lab report that needs a graph to be drawn and ended up marking one of those poorly drawn excel graphs?

You know the ones I mean, the graphs with no grid lines on the x axis and that silly comment box ‘series 1’! We have all been there I am sure.

The following link takes you to an excellent article that you can use as part of your teaching.

It guides you through the process of using excel to draw good quality graphs that should be appropriate for IA assessment. Admittedly, it was written back in 2004 and uses an earlier version of excel than probably most of us are using now, but the features should be transferable to more up to date versions of excel.

Why don’t you give it a go!
