Our Story

Brief History of OSC

Established in 1990, we have been supporting students at every step of their IB Diploma Programme for the past thirty years, working with experienced teachers renowned within the International Baccalaureate community.

Through our short academic programmes and exam revision resources, our students not only gain knowledge to build towards academic success, they also gain independent thinking, the ability to collaborate and communicate with peers from different cultural backgrounds and acquire leadership skills that are required by an increasingly complex world.

The OSC Future

As education embraces online and blended learning and adapts to a post COVID-19 world, we at OSC welcome new opportunities to prepare IB students for their future. Virtual learning is now a vital element of all students’ education, which is why we are extending our support by offering students OSC Courses, our new online revision courses as well as traditional at-location courses; OSC Study, our new revision app featuring study flash cards, revision guides and video tutorials; and OSC Tutor, an online tutoring service for one-to-one tuition.

With over thirty years’ experience working with expert IB educators and thousands of IB students, we move forward by offering accessible high-quality revision courses and resources to suit the modern global IB student and expanding International Baccalaureate community.

OSC Timeline

1989: Eileen Polgreen, IB Economics teacher at St Clare’s in Oxford, creates Oxford Study Courses, welcoming 2nd-year IBDP students for IB Exam Revision Courses during Easter break.

1991: OSC welcomes 1st-year IBDP students for Mid-IB Courses in Oxford for the first time.

1992: OSC welcomes 1st-year IBDP students for Mid-IB Courses at MIT in Boston for the first time.

2011: OSC welcomes students to IB Exam Revision Courses at Dulwich College in Shanghai for the first time.

2014: OSC welcomes students to IB Exam Revision Courses at the International School of Brussels for the first time

2015: OSC joins GEMS Education; OSC welcomes students to IB Exam Revision Courses at the Wellington Academy in Dubai for the first time

2016: OSC introduces bespoke in-school courses.; OSC welcomes students to IB Exam Revision Courses at St George’s International School in Rome for the first time.

2017: OSC welcomes students to IB Exam Revision Courses at Munich International School for the first time.

2018: OSC welcomes students to IB Exam Revision Courses at London UCL for the first time.

2020: OSC joins the Faria Education Group, along with Pamoja.

2021: OSC takes IB Exam Revision Courses online.
