Case Study 2017 is focused on Wearable Technology – Kita Health Tech (KHT) with the key challenges involving current and future issues related to the health and well-being of individuals. Challenges include these areas:

  • Hardware and software
  • Data
  • End users
  • Policies and practices

Kita Health Tech (KHT)  is not a real technology. However, candidates are expected to conduct secondary research into real-life situations similar to Wearable Technology – Kita Health Tech (KHT) and relate their findings to information collected through primary research which may include experimenting with similar devices, visits to institutions and organizations using this type of technology, guest speakers, personal and online video interviews, and email correspondence.

The following chart highlights topics relating to health and well-being using wearable technologies.

Additionally teachers and students are invited to share resources by following and making contributions to the Facebook Group: Case Study 2017. Postings from this group are also included on the related ITGSopedia webpage.

Both resources are at the beginning stages since the work on the Case Study will start in September 2016 in preparation for the May 2017 exam.

ITGS students are also encouraged to share their findings from both secondary and primary research with classmates and other ITGS students using collaborative social media sites such as Wikispaces, Googledocs, or Diigo.
