When considering on-going uploads 24/7 from the world, means Big Data that ticks over numbers at an incredible rate. The following infographic was created by Domo and is posted in the blog on their website. It shows the amount of content that is created on the web in a minute! We have to step back to see the overall cross-section of what kind of content is being created and where on the web. The quetion is what kind of data has been left out? Also this infographic is somewhat misleading when we realized that Whatsapp is actually a part of Facebook. Perhaps in the next version of this infographic, they will be merged?

Below is a similar infographic that was created two years earlier in 2012. Again it shows how much data is generated every minute.

DatainOneMinute 2012

Some of the comparisons are a drastic change in two years. Google searches doubled from 2,000,000 to 4,000,000. Facebook leaped from sharing 684,478 pieces of content to 2,460,000 pieces of content. Tweets jumped from 100,000 a year to 277,000. Even greater increases can be seen in the posting of images in Instagram from 3,600 to 216,000. However, not surprising, email messages stayed relatively the same.

It is quite alarming to think what the infographic for online content will look like in 2016? 2018? and 2020?
