A great way to start a DT IB Diploma class – to get students started is asking them to hypothesise on the process for making something – what are the

machines, the materials, the resources and the process to create a paperclip for example? Over the period of two years – if you continue to do this exercise students will gain a much better understanding of many areas of the new DT syllabus. Especially now there is a greater focus on Commercial Production in Unit 10 for Higher Level and also in the SL Core Unit 4 Raw Material to Final Product.
