The last year I have been running month-long online courses for teachers. Part of the work includes sharing devising companies we know of. Here are some that I thought may interest teachers and students like:
Chance Theater (Orange County, California)
This is a company that produces both original works and established plays. Their mission: Our mission is to contribute to a more compassionate, connected, and creative Orange County.
Chance Theater is dedicated to the creation of exciting theatrical experiences, taking artistic risks, and collaborating with gifted artists on passionate and provocative plays and musicals. Their mission statement is as follows:

- inspiring and empowering creative young minds
Indianostrum Ensemble (Pondicherry, India)
Indianostrum Théâtre is a Pondicherry (southern India) based professional theatre troupe that was founded in 2007 by Koumarane Valavane. After working at the Théâtre du Soleil in Paris, Koumarane Valavane returned to India in 2006 to found Indianostrum Théâtre. Indianostrum has produced eight major plays that have been performed widely, all of which have received widespread critical acclaim, notably for the innovative mise en scène. They also run a space which acts as their studio and a platform for artists they know and have worked with. The space brings people around Pondicherry and beyond to build art loving community.
Their core aim as a theatre troupe is to expand the role of modern theatre in the cultural life of the country, by developing new modern texts and exploring its relationships with traditional forms and transcending political, social and historical divides.
Theater Laboratory: Indianostrum initiated a theater lab to undertake research and training in theater practice with focus on traditional art forms. The initial phase of the lab happened in August and September 2016 with the objective of developing a more concrete program for intensive research.
The Horse and Bamboo Theatre (UK based)
Established in Lancashire in 1978, The Horse and Bamboo Theatre is a specialised puppetry and mask company with a strong tradition of story-telling and performance. They have now started to experiment with film and animation, expanding their repetoire.
