oxfordstudycourses.com is the trading name of Pamoja Education Ltd “Supplier” of Building 9400, Oxford Business Park North, Oxford. OX4 2HN. United Kingdom and its subsidiaries, affiliates, successors or assigns “Supplier” “we,” “us,” or “our,” the operators of the Website.
“Service” refers to the services provided through any of our Websites.
“Course” is the Live Stream IB Exam Revision Course provided by the Supplier.
“Single Course” refers to one of the consecutive time slots over the duration of the Course.
“Subject” is one IB subject.
“Class” refers to one group of students taking one Subject led by a teacher for the duration of the Single Course and individual sessions within the Single Course.
“Final Payment Date” occurs 60 days before the start of the Course.
“Staff” refers to the people employed by the Supplier to run the Course.
“Parent” refers to one or more parents or guardians.
“Student” refers to the IB student attending the Course.
“Website” means our website at oxfordstudycourses.com.
“Content” The Supplier provides all information for the Course on the Website free of any extra access charges. The information provided on our Website is provided on the basis that we accept no liability for any of the information published.
2. Supplier Responsibilities
2.1 The Supplier will use its reasonable care and skill to provide to the Student a learning environment with Students of similar academic needs led by teachers who are highly experienced in the requested Subject(s).
2.2 This is a non-residential course. Students requiring accommodation for all or part of their stay will need to book independently.
2.3 The Supplier will confirm enrolment subject to availability in any Single Course after full payment is received on behalf of the Student. All Classes require a minimum enrolment of four Students.
2.3.1 The may cancel any Course, Single Course, Subject or Class if there are insufficient Students enrolled and in this case Students will be advised four weeks before the start date of the Single Course. Students may then choose another Subject where available or obtain a full refund of the fees for the Single Course
2.3.2 Where the Supplier holds a Class open and at the start date of the Class there are insufficient Students enrolled, the Supplier may, at its sole discretion, substitute one-to-one tuition of approximately half the number of scheduled teaching hours for the booked Class
2.4Staff will provide reasonable guidance and/or assistance as it deems necessary whilst on course to encourage the Student to:
2.4.1 behave responsibly and in accordance with the day-to-day rules and the Student Pledge;
2.4.2 maintain a good standard of health and well-being
2.4.3 remain safe and respectful whilst on Course, whether or not they are supervised by Staff.
2.5 In order to keep class sizes small and/or to ensure the Student is in the most appropriate class, the Supplier reserves the right to change the order in which the Subjects are taken.
2.6 All Staff and teachers agree to treat Students with the courtesy and respect they deserve as young adults. The Supplier operates a strict non-discrimination policy with regard to disability, ethnic origin, nationality, religion, gender, age and sexual orientation.
2.7 The Supplier will deal promptly with any issues, grievances or complaints, whether raised by the Student or Parent. Staff are trained to deal with most issues, otherwise please contact the Supplier using the e-mail address and telephone number provided on the website. A copy of the Supplier’s full complaint policy is available on request.
2.8 In the event of circumstances beyond the Supplier’s control affecting a class, e.g. a teacher falling ill or sudden loss of venue, the Supplier will make reasonable efforts to provide a practical alternative. However, in the unlikely event that the Supplier deems it necessary to cancel a class a refund for that class only will be offered. The Supplier cannot be held liable for any costs incurred by the Student or Parent and strongly recommends appropriate insurance is arranged in advance.
2.9 The Supplier will record all Sessions, and recordings will be used only for internal QA and Safeguarding purposes only.
3. Parent and Student Responsibilities
3.1 A place on a Course can be booked for themselves by a Student, or on behalf of a Student by their Parent(s). In either case the applicant warrants they can enter into this agreement, must be acting in good faith and both the Student and Parent must be in full knowledge of each other’s needs and wishes.
3.2 The Supplier will send a copy of the application and accompanying terms and conditions to the email addresses provided for the Student and the Parent and will assume that all parties provide their unreserved agreement unless informed otherwise in writing.
3.3 If a Student or Parent notifies the Supplier that they do not agree to the terms and conditions in full, the offer of a place on the Course may be withdrawn by the Supplier. Under these circumstances, no refund of monies paid will be provided unless the notification by the Student or Parent is within the cancellation period as stated in paragraph 5.1.
3.4 The Applicant agrees to pay the required deposit at the time of booking, and the balance of fees by the Final Payment Date. Additional extras added after the Final Payment Date, medical fees incurred by the Student, and the cost of rectifying any loss or damage caused by the Student are payable immediately.
3.5 Whilst attending the Course, Students must behave in a respectful, responsible and entirely legal manner in line with the best practice for online education and as per guidance in KCSIE. In particular students will:
3.5.1 arrive on time for all Classes unless they are ill in which case they must inform Staff;
3.5.2 treat all Staff, teachers and Students with respect and courtesy;
3.5.3 not consume, or have in their possession alcohol or any illegal and/or intoxicating substances;
3.5.4 comply with the Student Pledge, the day-to-day rules of the Course and any instructions given by Staff.
3.6 The Parent/Student will be responsible for arranging any insurance cover they wish to have, which may include cancellation insurance which covers them if they are not able to take up their place for any reason.
3.7 It is essential to the safety and wellbeing of each Student that the application form is completed accurately and fully. Students with disabilities or any educational, social, personal, psychological or religious needs that may require special attention are offered the opportunity to provide sufficient information to enable the Supplier to consider whether they can be accommodated within the class or if reasonable adjustments can be made.
3.8 In the event of non-compliance with these terms and conditions by Student/Parent, or if the Student engages in any behaviour which, in the Supplier’s opinion does or is likely to prejudice the safety and smooth running of the Course, the Supplier reserves the right to require the Student to withdraw from the Course. In this event no refund of fees will be made for the remainder of the Course.
3.9 The Student agrees to be recorded while using Zoom to take part in an OSC Course. All recordings will only be used for internal QA and Safeguarding purposes only
4.1 The Parent and Student indemnify and hold harmless the Supplier, its agents, staff, officers and representatives against any failure by the Parent or Student to comply with these conditions and any rules reasonably imposed by the Supplier in connection with the operation of the Course.
4.2 Other than those implied by statute, the Supplier makes no warranty about the services and the Courses it provides. It is solely for the Parent and Student to determine the Student’s academic needs and abilities, and the suitability of any Course. The Supplier makes no warranty about the impact and effect of the Course upon the Student’s academic performance or exam results.
4.3 The Supplier will not be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct or indirect, suffered by the Student, Parent or any sponsoring institution caused by the Supplier’s negligence or breach of these terms and conditions.
4.4 In the event of any such Supplier liabilities arising, the maximum liability of the Supplier shall be equivalent to the amount of fees paid for the Course in question, although nothing in these terms shall limit the Supplier’s liability for those liabilities that cannot be excluded by law.
4.5 Save only for liabilities which cannot by law be excluded, the maximum liability of the Supplier for breach of contract shall be the amount of fees paid for the Course in question.
5. Copyright and Content Ownership
5.1 Unless otherwise stated below, the Supplier owns all intellectual property rights vesting in the Course.
5.2 The Supplier retains full intellectual property rights to the Content supplied by the Supplier in the product however claims no intellectual property rights for the Content published and/or loaded to the Website by third parties.
5.5 Any hypertext links to other sites, which appear on the Website are operated by third parties and use of such a link means you are leaving the Website. We are not responsible for, and give no warranties, guarantees or representations in respect of linked sites or information upon them.
5.6 “Oxford Study Courses”, “OSC”, “Pamoja Education”, “Pamoja Online Courses”, “Pamoja Lesson Suite”, “ManageBac”, “OpenApply”, “Atlas”, “AtlasNext”, “SchoolsBuddy”, “ClubsBuddy”, “CommsBuddy”, “SummerStart”, “BookJetty” and our logos are trade names of Faria Education Group Ltd. You may not use these names or similar variants without our written consent.
6. Cancellation Policy
6.1 For all bookings there is a cancellation period of 14 days from the date of the “OSC Confirmation of Place on Course” email in which the application can be cancelled and a full refund issued.
6.2 Before the Final Payment Date for each Course you can cancel your booking and receive a refund minus a £150 cancellation fee.
6.3 After the Final Payment Date no refund will be made except within the 14 day cancellation period.
6.4 For bookings made within 14 days of the start of the Course, any cancellation refund will only apply to whole unused Single Courses.
6.5 The Supplier recommends the Student or Parent take out cancellation insurance to cover the Student in case they are unable to attend the Course.
7. Payment Terms
7.1 The deposit is payable on application. It is the first part of the full payment. On receipt of the deposit, the Student’s place on the course is secured only until the Final Payment Date.
7.2 For applications secured with a deposit, the Supplier reserves the right to withdraw the place on the course if the outstanding balance is not received by the Final Payment Date.
7.3 For applications made after the Final Payment Date, the full course fees must be received by the Supplier within 48 hours in order to secure the place on the Course.
8. Force Majeure
8.1 The Supplier will not be liable to the Student or Parent or other person or organisation paying for the Course in the event of any change in the Course due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Supplier.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
9.1 Any information that is provided will be treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation, and the Supplier’s Privacy Statement, available atwww.oxfordstudycourses.com/legal/privacy-policy, which sets out the means by which the Supplier collects, stores and processes different types of personal information.
10. General Conditions
10.1 This agreement represents the entire agreement and understanding between the Supplier and the Parent and the Student and supersedes any previous agreement relating to the subject matter of this agreement. No term of this agreement shall be enforceable by a third party.
10.2 This agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Each party irrevocably agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales over any claim or matter arising under or in accordance with this agreement.
10.3 Unless otherwise stated in writing, all prices are quoted in GBP (£).
