Julie Lindsay holding ‘Flattening Classrooms, Engaging Minds: Move to Global Collaboration One Step at a Time’

The 2012 ASB Unplugged will be held in Mumbai 23-25 February 2012 at the American School of Bombay and co-hosted by Julie Lindsay and Kim Cofino. Teachers and their students will be participating in a full program of Flatclassroom Projects activities.

An Overview of the EventResources  and Action Project and other information can be found on the ASB Unplugged wiki. Participants and visitors are invited to join the Backchannel for the event and open the uStream. Virtual Participants in ASB Unplugged should register in advance in order to be involved in the activities. Certainly an event not to be missed.

For anyone not familiar with Flatclassroom Projects, the website provides a complete background of the projects that are currently running and also links to those that have run in the past (see the left menu).

I am particularly fond of the Digiteen Project based on engaging students with the ideas relating to digital citizenship which I helped to develop. I watched the classroom was drastically changed into a dynamic learning environment where students were collaborating not only with each other, but with students in other schools.

Julie Lindsay and Vicki Davis have written a new book called ‘Flattening Classrooms, Engaging Minds: Move to Global Collaboration One Step at a Time’ which has just been released.  It is a landmark resource for educators who are interested in ‘flattening’ their classrooms.

Congratulations Julie and Vicki!
